Happy National Popcorn Poppin’ Month everyone! To help with the celebration I asked my friend Lauren to create some spooktacular Halloween goodies using a Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at your local Walmart. Simply follow the step by step instructions to enjoy some holiday fun that is sure to be all Treat and no Trick!

Pumpkin
Materials Needed:
Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at Walmart, orange and green food coloring, tootsie roll, melted chocolate, green laffy taffy (dilute food coloring with a little almond extract for flavor).
- Paint the Popcorn Ball with orange food coloring and let it dry.
- Mold the tootsie roll to look like a stem, give it a little bend, attach to top of popcorn with melted chocolate.
- Mold the green Laffy Taffy to look like a leaf, use melted chocolate to attach.
- Paint some veins on the leaf with green food coloring. Looks so real
EEK! Spider
Materials Needed:
Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at Walmart, white chocolate, mini Oreos, black string licorice, pink Laffy Taffy, candy eyes, dark chocolate to write with.
- Dip the Popcorn Ball in melted white chocolate wafers and let dry in the fridge for a few minutes.
- Stick a mini Oreo cookie on top of the popcorn ball and attach with a dab of melted chocolate.
- Bend the black string licorice to form its legs and attach with melted chocolate.
- Shape the tongue out of pink Laffy Taffy and then paint a dab of chocolate in the middle of the tongue to accent it, attach with melted chocolate.
- Paint the word “EEK” with some dark chocolate.
Jack-O-Lantern
Materials needed:
Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at Walmart, orange chocolate, tootsie roll, dark chocolate.
- Dip the Popcorn Ball in melted orange chocolate wafers and let dry in fridge for a bit.
- Form the stem out of the tootsie roll and attach with orange melted chocolate.
- Draw the face with a paintbrush using dark chocolate.
Eyeball
Materials Needed:
Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at Walmart, dipping chocolate or almond bark, red string licorice, candy eye (or mini marshmallow and mini chocolate chip)
- Dip the Popcorn Ball in white chocolate, almond bark or leave it plain.
- Cut strips of red string licorice to create the veins of the eyeball and attach using melted chocolate.
- Attach candy eye using melted chocolate, (which you can purchase where they sell cake decorating supplies or take a mini marshmallow and attach on a mini chocolate chip.)
Crazy Goon
Materials Needed:
Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at Walmart, green food coloring, purple, pink and yellow Laffy Taffy, black string licorice (dilute food coloring with a little almond extract for flavor)
- Paint the Popcorn Ball with green food coloring and let dry for a few minutes.
- Flatten out the purple Laffy Taffy to form the face and center it on the ball then attach with melted chocolate.
- Form mouth out of the pink Laffy Taffy and attach with melted chocolate.
- Attach candy corns for the arms with melted chocolate.
- Mold yellow Laffy Taffy into cylinders to form three legs for the Goon and attach with melted chocolate.
- Cut strips of black string licorice, dip end in melted chocolate and attach on top of its head.
- Last but not least create his sight with five candy eyes.
Goofy Monster
Materials Needed:
Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at Walmart, purple, yellow and red food coloring, candy eyes, pink Laffy Taffy, cheese puffs and candy corn (dilute food coloring with a little almond extract for flavor).
- Paint the Popcorn Ball with purple food coloring, and let it dry a bit.
- Paint the whites of the candy eyes with yellow food coloring and let dry for a minute.
- Form the tongue out of softened pink Laffy Taffy and paint a strip of red food coloring to form a crease. Attach to the Popcorn Ball with melted chocolate.
- Attach the cheese curls on for arms using melted chocolate.
- Using melted chocolate attach the candy corn on the monsters head.
Kooky Witch
Materials Needed:
Kathy Kaye™ Popcorn Ball available at Walmart, green food coloring, candy eyes, candy corn, red string licorice, tootsie rolls, black string licorice, chocolate waffle cone, orange food coloring and M&M’s (dilute food coloring with a little almond extract for flavoring).
- Paint the Popcorn Ball with green food coloring and let it dry a bit.
- Soften the tootsie roll and mold into a hat brim.
- Wrap the red string licorice around the tootsie rolls (for the legs) and attach with toothpicks. (If you do this first, it will prevent the ball from rolling )
- Cut the black string licorice and attach to the sides with melted chocolate.
- Attach the molded brim to the ball and then cut the chocolate waffle cone to even the opening, (using scissors), so it sets on top of the brim.
- Paint the trim around the hat with orange chocolate.
- Attach the M&M’s to the orange trim while still melted.
- Attach candy eyes, candy corn nose, and a red string licorice frowny face using melted chocolate.
